Palo Santo Stick Burner - Fire

Same Chulucanas ceramic tradition as the Air and Water variants - a pottery lineage descending from the Vicús and Tallán cultures of pre-Columbian northern Peru, protected under Peru's Denominación de Origen designation since 2006. The Fire variant carries surface patterns specific to its design within the elemental series; individual artisans hand-fire each piece using the two-stage technique with mango-leaf negative resist.

For sticks:

1. Hold the palo santo stick to a flame until the tip catches.
2. Blow the flame out - the stick smoulders.
3. Lay the stick across the dish with the smouldering tip clear of the base.
4. The stick will self-extinguish - relight as needed.

For cones:

1. Place the cone upright on the dish surface.
2. Light the tip and blow the flame out.
3. The cone smoulders from the tip downward through to its base.

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use. Avoid prolonged moisture exposure. Always place on a heat-safe surface.

The three burners - Air, Fire, Water - are designed as a coordinated set: same Chulucanas ceramic, same dual-format function, three distinct surface patterns. The pottery tradition itself uses fire in an unusual way: a two-stage firing process where the first firing oxidises the clay and the second smoke-fires it with mango leaves pressing against the surface, producing the characteristic dark-and-light contrast unique to this lineage.
