One White Sage bundle (4-inch) - Salvia apiana, supplier-confirmed Mexican cultivation. Tightly bound dried sage leaves that smoulder slowly when lit at one end.

Four palo santo sticks (4-inch) - Bursera graveolens from the Peruvian dry forests, the same naturally aged wood as the Palo Santo Collection. Smoulders rather than burns; self-extinguishes; relights for multiple sessions.

Sandalwood Stupa incense sticks (tube of 15) - sandalwood worked into the thin hand-rolled Stupa incense format produced in the Kathmandu Valley workshop, following the Newar craft tradition. Different from the thick dhoop format used in Indian sandalwood incense and from commercial agarbatti - slimmer Nepalese-style sticks that burn approximately 15–20 minutes each. The same Kathmandu Valley workshop lineage that produces the rest of the Stupa Collection.

One natural abalone shell — Haliotis from Mexican Pacific waters (Baja California Sur). The iridescent inner surface is nacre, the same biological material that forms pearls. The shell serves as the kit's functional vessel — a heat-safe vessel that catches ash from the burning bundle and palo santo sticks. The Stupa incense sticks burn upright and need a separate incense holder.

White Sage bundle and palo santo sticks:

1. Hold the tip to a flame until it catches.
2. Blow the flame out - the bundle or stick smoulders.
3. Place in the abalone shell with the iridescent interior facing up - the shell catches ash and embers.

Sandalwood Stupa incense sticks:

1. Light the tip until the stick catches.
2. Blow the flame out so the stick smoulders.
3. Place upright in a heat-safe incense holder. The abalone shell included in this kit catches ash from horizontally-burning materials (bundles and palo santo) but isn't a stick holder - use a separate upright incense holder for the Stupa sticks.

Important - abalone shell safety: the shell is suitable for bundles and palo santo sticks. Do not burn resin or charcoal in the shell, and do not use the shell as an upright incense holder for the Stupa sticks. Charcoal discs reach temperatures (600–900°C) far above what the shell's calcium carbonate composition can safely withstand. Wipe the interior with a soft, dry cloth after use; avoid harsh chemicals and prolonged moisture; store dry.

The geographic spread crosses three continents, with the Mexican Pacific appearing twice - the White Sage cultivation and the abalone fishery - as the kit's quiet geographic through-line on one of its bookends. The abalone shell is also the kit's structural feature: a heat-safe vessel that catches ash from the burning bundle and palo santo sticks, sized for those formats without the customer needing a separate burner. The Stupa sticks burn upright and need their own incense holder.
