For five thousand years, across every continent, human beings burned aromatic materials in their most important rooms. Temples, courts, gathering halls, the rooms where decisions were made and the rooms where people came to be still. They did this not out of superstition. They did it because they understood something about the relationship between atmosphere and attention.

When the atmosphere of a room changes, the quality of attention inside it changes. When attention changes, so does perspective.

This is not a theory. It is the oldest consensus in human behavioural history. And it is the foundation of what we are building.
